About mdformatter
A small, focused tool — built to do one thing well.
mdformatter converts Markdown into clean, properly formatted Word (DOCX), HTML, and PDF documents. Write or paste your Markdown, pick a style preset, and export a document that looks like it was formatted by hand — headings, tables, code blocks, and even LaTeX math ($...$ and $$...$$) all render natively, including real Word-native equations in the DOCX output.
It exists because converting a Markdown file into something you can actually hand to someone — a manuscript, a report, a set of notes — usually means fighting with a word processor afterwards. mdformatter skips that step.
How it's different
- No account, no sign-up, no installation — open the page and start typing.
- Nothing is stored longer than necessary: generated files are automatically deleted after 24 hours (see the Privacy Policy for specifics).
- Export to DOCX, HTML, or PDF from the same document.
- Free to use, supported by display advertising rather than subscriptions.
Who's behind it
